VOCALIS CAUSA
Chamber Vocal Ensemble
The Vocalis Causa Chamber Vocal Ensemble was founded at the beginning of 2018 by its director Tomás Davidis with the intention of creating a space for working with chamber vocal music in Ingeniero Maschwitz, Escobar district, in a professional manner.
During these years of work, the group has concentrated, on the one hand, on the study and interpretation of ancient vocal music (Renaissance to Classicism) as opposed to a repertoire of contemporary vocal music, highlighting in it the reminiscence of ancient vocal music of a sacred nature.
Their repertoire features contemporary and internationally renowned composers such as Arvo Pärt, Ola Gjeilo, Vitautas Miskinis, and David Childs, among others, as well as Argentine composers, including several members of Vocalis Causa .
Currently (Project 2026) the chamber vocal ensemble consists of 12 singers:
Sopranos: Daniela Nardini, María Ocampo, Myriam Rojas
Contraltos: Carolina Wagner, Silvana Nomberto, Susana Noemí Gómez
Tenors: Pedro Guiraud, Juan Bracco, Ralf Stauber
Basses: Adrián Agustín Muñoz, Esaú Rivas Merino, Tomás Lukac
Since its founding, the choir has performed in various churches and theaters in Buenos Aires. In 2023, it presented, promoted, and disseminated by the cultural department of the Escobar district, a series of concerts of contemporary sacred music in the district's most important churches. In 2024, it continued to promote contemporary Argentine and European sacred music in churches, museums, and cultural centers in Buenos Aires. In 2025, it had the opportunity to participate in the choral festival in the city of Brandenburg, Germany, and to give concerts in both Germany and Budapest, Hungary.
Vocalis Causa has received recognition of Cultural Interest from the Deliberative Council of the Escobar Party.
Its mission is to work and promote chamber choral singing, creating a space of excellence and exchange with other groups dedicated to vocal music.
